Breast Implants and Breast Augmentation Stories from our Visitors

If you have already read Nicole's Story, you have a pretty good idea what this section of the website is all about. After several women emailed their breast augmentation stories to us, we thought it would be great to have women share their full-length recovery stories after their breast implant surgeries for everyone's benefit. Thankfully, many women have contributed, some in more detail than others.

Here are the stories of our visitors. Many names have been changed for privacy. Where appropriate, there is detail in parentheses so you can decide if you are interested. Click on a name to read.

Gummy Bear Breast Implants in Dallas, TX

My plastic surgeon was Dr. William P. Adams, Jr.
All I can say is wow! Ladies, do your research and you won't regret your decision. This experience was all that I expected and more. I have been researching for years information on breast augmentation. I knew that I wanted to get this done, but was apprehensive. About two years ago, I found the information on the "gummy bears" and knew that my wait was over and that I was ready.

Doing research pays off. Most of the doctors I found were in California or far up north. After looking into the implants themselves, I found my doctor, Dr. William Adams in Dallas Texas. In November, 2007, I called and made an appointment for a consultation.

Dr. Adams promoted a 24-hour recovery and had lots of information on his own website about saline vs. silicone. By going to his site you will see that he is not just about promoting himself. He truly gives a potential patient as much information as possible.

Dr. Adams' office is about 8 hours away from my home, so I had to fly there for my consultation with him. Again, after reading lots of information about these implants, I felt fairly confident that I wanted to get the gummy bear implants. My only concern was the distance from Dr. Adams and the fact that I was only getting information on him from online.

My visit was in November, 2007. His staff was very helpful and was anxious to answer any questions and/or concerns that I had. Dr. Adams was wonderful as well. He took his time to ask me questions and let me ask questions as well. His professionalism and expertise were obvious to me and my decision was made to go forward with the procedure in the spring of 2008.

I was nervous as could be about the procedure as the months crept along. Not because I had doubts about doing it, I think my nervousness was because of the distance. Many people kept asking me why I chose to go all the way to Dallas when I could simply get silicone implants right here in New Orleans. The one thing I did find is that many people are quick to give their opinions about what you should and shouldn't do.

I went to Dallas on Thursday 03/27/08. My surgery was the next morning. Before the surgery, Dr. Adams' staff called me often, making sure I was ready and prepared to answer any questions. To my surprise, I was not nervous one bit the morning of the surgery. It felt like Christmas morning! Dr. Adams' was so great! He and the staff at the surgery center explained exactly how the surgery was going to go and what I would experience after. Each step was important and the entire staff was very reassuring that I made an excellent choice with Dr. Adams.

Well, let me tell you.... when Dr. Adams' talks about a 24-hour recovery.... he is not pulling your leg! After my surgery, I felt great. Very minimal pain. By 10:30 a.m. I was back at my hotel and took a nap; that evening I had dinner with my family! I took a shower and felt like I was on cloud 9. I looked great... sure there was swelling... no bruising. The pain that was there was taken care of with Ibuprofen. My mom drove us home on Monday (3 days afer my surgery). Absolutely minimal down time. The key is to follow Dr. Adams' instructions to the last sentence.

I look and feel great. I am so pleased with these implants and the work that Dr. Adams has done. I give him complete credit because he took into consideration my body type and size; my wants. His experience in this area is the reason for my satisfaction with this procedure. My breasts look totally natural and I have no discomfort whatsoever. In July I went to the beach and was thrilled with my results. No more bathing suits that don't fit on top anymore! Yea!

I would be happy to discuss further my experiences with anyone considering the gummy bears and/or Dr. William Adams in Dallas.
