Breast Implants and Breast Augmentation Stories from our Visitors

If you have already read Nicole's Story, you have a pretty good idea what this section of the website is all about. After several women emailed their breast augmentation stories to us, we thought it would be great to have women share their full-length recovery stories after their breast implant surgeries for everyone's benefit. Thankfully, many women have contributed, some in more detail than others.

Here are the stories of our visitors. Many names have been changed for privacy. Where appropriate, there is detail in parentheses so you can decide if you are interested. Click on a name to read.

24 Hour Recovery Surgery

My plastic surgeon was Dr. John B. Tebbetts
I had my surgery with Dr. Tebbetts on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010. I am now 7 months PO, but wrote this when I was only 2 days post-op. The 24 hour recovery surgery is phenomenal!!! I woke up from surgery very groggy, but in no pain. I returned to my hotel room and after a 2 hour nap, my husband woke me up with soup, sandwich, and 7-up. I then took my first Ibuprofen 800 mg, and began my first set of arm raises. I have to admit, I was a little cautious at first, but soon those arms were going up easily and releasing any stiffness in my chest. I took a long, hot shower, washed and dried my hair, did my makeup, got dressed and headed out to North Park Mall. I disappeared into the ladies room every 30 minutes to do arm raises. After shopping, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Buca di Beppo and returned to our room around 9:00 for a good night's sleep. I was able to open and close my own car door, buckle my seat belt, etc., no problem.

Today, my breasts are high, swollen and tight, but not at all painful. I'm able to continue with my everyday activities, like doing the laundry, fixing dinner, etc. I throw in a few arm raises here and there to help with the tightness. I know in the next few days and weeks, the fluids that I received during surgery will subside and the implants will slowly drop into their pockets. Any time I've had any questions or concerns, Terrye has been so good to answer right away...she's part patient educator, part friend, and part Mom!! Dr. Tebbetts is a wonderfully skilled surgeon and I will be forever grateful that he has pioneered the way to breast augmentation without pain, nausea, and narcotics. I hope my healing goes as well as my surgery and recovery!

I did a lot of research before deciding on a BA. The very best recommendations came from ladies on this forum!
