Breast Implants and Breast Augmentation Stories from our Visitors

If you have already read Nicole's Story, you have a pretty good idea what this section of the website is all about. After several women emailed their breast augmentation stories to us, we thought it would be great to have women share their full-length recovery stories after their breast implant surgeries for everyone's benefit. Thankfully, many women have contributed, some in more detail than others.

Here are the stories of our visitors. Many names have been changed for privacy. Where appropriate, there is detail in parentheses so you can decide if you are interested. Click on a name to read.

Scared but Extremely Happy :o)

My plastic surgeon was Dr. David Berman
I said that I would not do this but here it goes....The only reason that I'm posting my story is so that someone else can not feel as scared as I did before getting my BA Surgery.

1st. - I went to Dr. Berman for a "FREE CONSULTATION," and decided that I'm ready to as my best friend always says (Join the Titt-Tee- Committee)! Yea, I know right!

At my consultation, Dr. Berman looked at my current weight/height/size and asked me how big did I want to go? My answer... Well lets just say, I had this fabulous picture of Kim Kardashian naked- featured in "W Magazine". (lol). Dr. Berman looked at me and said "humm, we will see," then after looking at my breast and body frame, he recommended that I go on several websites (including implantInfo) to find someone who's body frame, height, and weight was very similar to mine and who I thought was a good look, and pick about two then send to him.

I did just that, however I told the doctor that I was looking for a "slightly bigger implant" around 400 cc's, but the pictures that I sent were women who had about 325-350.

2nd. - I made the appointment for 3 weeks out from my initial consultation- (March 10th to be exact). Dr. Berman’s price was somewhat high but not extreme; he was right on the scale of the other "Top Cosmetic Surgeons" in my area.

3rd. - From the day that I walked out of his office, I must have had at least 3-4 Anxiety Attacks! I reached out to Dr. Berman many times, via-e-mail along with phone calls, prayers etc... lol...I was soooo SCARED! I had trouble sleeping, driving, walking; my life was revolving completely around my BREAST SURGERY!

I must say, every time I called Dr. Berman, he was quick to respond, he was very assuring, quick to respond, and provided me with the research that backed up his decisions to perform one technique over the other. :o)

4th- SURGERY DAY-
OMG!!!!!! I arrived at the hospital where I was greeted by Dr. Berman. The Anesthesia Guys came in to prep me for surgery, I went down. About 45 minutes later, I woke up looking like someone from "Bay Watch" lol seriously. I was feeling really good, no pain, no wraps, nothing but a sports bra and two bandage strips to cover the incisions. (I'm so serious) oh, and by the way Dr. Berman went with the 375cc’s instead of 400, he explained to me that he filled them to 390cc’s and they did not look natural, so he took them back down to 375cc’s…. “I’m so glad he did, because these babies are huge, I couldn’t imagine any bigger!” (smile)

5th.- The night after surgery, I felt a little stiffness, minor pain- nothing like what I’ve been reading on this blog. Seriously, I only felt like from 1-10 with 10 being the worst.... I felt about a 3-4 in the pain department. I don't necessarily call BA Surgery Pain; I would consider it more of a "Really Sore Feeling" not Pain! (Tooth Ache, Broken Bones, Too Small Shoes) Now that's Pain!

6th- 4 days later- I was back to work... now this is where it got tricky. The only problem that I had going back to work were the "Contraction type feeling that I was having in my breast." It felt like my breasts were squeezing my chest muscles or vice versa. I just know that it was soooo un-comfortable! I called Dr. Berman and asked him about the feeling that I was having and he assured me that it was completely normal... It seemed like to more I walked or moved around, the more my breast contracted.

7th- Week one was probably the worst... just the contractions were a bit annoying but the pain was minimum. To have your breast squeezed all day over and over is very annoying. However, when I got home and settled down, my breast settled down. I was able to shower 24 hours after surgery.

Week Two - Now! Today I’m Two Weeks from surgery and I feel wonderful! I'm able to: Take a bath, sleep on my stomach, work full time, Drive my SUV, I feel completely normal. I do have some burning on the nipple sometimes but nothing extreme, as Dr. Berman told me it takes about 3 months for everything to completely settle. (Remember I’m only in week two.)

So for anyone who is considering getting this surgery, I encourage you to do so. If possible, I recommend you schedule an appointment with Dr. Berman as I could not imagine having gone to another surgeon. I'm glad I went with my first instinct when choosing him.

I hope my story helps to calm some of the worries that you may be having about BA Surgery.
