Breast Implants and Breast Augmentation Stories from our Visitors

If you have already read Nicole's Story, you have a pretty good idea what this section of the website is all about. After several women emailed their breast augmentation stories to us, we thought it would be great to have women share their full-length recovery stories after their breast implant surgeries for everyone's benefit. Thankfully, many women have contributed, some in more detail than others.

Here are the stories of our visitors. Many names have been changed for privacy. Where appropriate, there is detail in parentheses so you can decide if you are interested. Click on a name to read.

Love My Breast Augmentation Results!

My plastic surgeon was Dr. Mark Epstein
I am a wife, a mother, and work a full time job, probably a description of many women out there who are looking into getting a breast augmentation. I knew after my second child, in January of 2008, that I might possibly consider undergoing this cosmetic procedure after my husband and I completed our family. Well, in October of 2010, I gave birth to our fourth child, yes, 4 under the age of 5, and I knew then that I wanted to go through with receiving breast implants. In February of 2011, I stopped breast feeding and I was already back to my pre pregnancy weight of 115 pounds. As many women know, there are just certain things that are beyond your control when it comes to your body after multiple pregnancies, your breasts being one of them. Well, until now! I immediately started browsing the internet and comparing. I was comparing doctors, different types of implants, different types of incisions, rapid recover vs. the “traditional” method. I think the first key phrase I typed into the search engine was “best cosmetic surgeons Long Island”. Within seconds, Dr. Epstein’s’ website came up. I instinctively found myself printing every piece of information he had on his website out so I could read it in bed later on in the evening when the kids went to bed. There were pages upon pages explaining everything I needed to know, everything I wanted to know, and everything I didn’t think of knowing, with regards to breast augmentation. Dr. Epstein’s website explained everything from his techniques for surgery and his rapid recovery plan, to information about types and styles of implants, to before and after photos of clients. The next day I called to schedule my consultation.

On March 17, I went for my first visit with Dr. Epstein. This was actually my first step in this whole new adventure I was beginning. Within minutes of my arrival, I was in the exam room with one of his assistants gathering all my information, and answering any questions that I had. Dr. Epstein came in the room a short time later and was extremely personable from the start. He and his staff gave me privacy when needed and were so professional in everything they did. I explained how prior to my pregnancies I was a full C cup, or a small D, depending on the bra, and now I was barely filling a 34B. Dr. Epstein did his measurements and took his photos. He discussed with me two different sizes that he thought would be best, one being better than the other, and explained the reasoning behind it all. We discussed the types of implant options, the incision he would do, and provided me with a computer rendering of before and after pictures. I then met with Mary Ellen who answered even more questions that I had. I was there for almost two hours, and never did I feel rushed, nor did I feel like I was taking up too much of the doctors’ time. I left the office that day feeling like I wanted Dr. Epstein to do my surgery, but I had already scheduled two other consultations with doctors who had done breast augmentations on friends, and I felt I needed to meet with them prior to making any decisions. Meeting with these doctors only reassured me that Dr. Epstein was the doctor I wanted to perform this surgery.

I had my surgery on Wednesday, April 6 at 3:00 pm. Prior to my surgery, I had one more consultation with Dr. Epstein and Mary Ellen, where I received all of my pre-surgical prescriptions and information. On the day of the surgery I was so excited and yet a tiny bit nervous. When I arrived at the office, the staff was so eager to do anything they could to make me, and my husband, more comfortable. I was instantly in a relaxed state and was ready to get this done. After entering into the operating room, besides laughing with the nurses, I don’t recall much. The next thing I remember, I was being woken up by staff at 4:30, and the surgery was over. Dr. Epstein was soon at my side, and showed me the results. I was ecstatic!! I was released with my “rapid recovery” instructions and made an appointment for the next day. That night I was sore, after all this is surgery, but it felt no worse than a hard workout at the gym. The hardest part thus far, was the fasting prior to surgery and the tiredness from the medication after the surgery. Once home, I took a quick nap, had something to eat, did my “recipe for success” exercises, and then went to bed. After a good nights sleep, I woke up the next morning, took a shower, got myself dressed, with a shirt that required lifting my arms over my head, and did my own hair and make-up. I drove my 5 year old and 3 year old to pre-school and even did some shopping. I felt fabulous! Through the next 4 days, I went to two barbecues, and was even lifting my 20 lb. six month old up. On Monday, less than 5 days after surgery, I was back to work, and feeling great!

I am a true believer that Dr. Epstein is an incredible doctor who cares about the end result of his patients. He gives you his honest and most professional opinion to what he believes would give you the most beautiful and natural looking body you deserve. I am now a full C cup, with breasts that are better than what they were prior to children. They are natural looking and natural feeling and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to use Dr. Epstein!
