Breast Implants and Breast Augmentation Stories from our Visitors

If you have already read Nicole's Story, you have a pretty good idea what this section of the website is all about. After several women emailed their breast augmentation stories to us, we thought it would be great to have women share their full-length recovery stories after their breast implant surgeries for everyone's benefit. Thankfully, many women have contributed, some in more detail than others.

Here are the stories of our visitors. Many names have been changed for privacy. Where appropriate, there is detail in parentheses so you can decide if you are interested. Click on a name to read.

I Finally Have Boobs! Yay!

First of all, I like to thanks all of you for sharing your stories. It helped me to prepare for my BA which I had on 8/5/09. Just wanted to share my story as well. BA was done under general anesthesia, silicone 350CC, under the muscle, incision at the crease. I was totally flat chested, 32AA before the BA and now I'm a 34C-D. I finally have boobs! Yay!

Day of surgery: I was groggy and sore and nauseous after I got home. It felt like I had been bench pressing 300lb weights for five hours straight. It felt more like a soreness than pain and it hurt to move my arms. I didn't arrange for anyone to stay with me during the night thinking that I could take care of myself but that was not such a good idea. Since I was nauseous, I couldn't sit up and had to lie flat in bed. But because they gave me IV fluids during the surgery, I had to get up to go to the bathroom like 5 times that night and it was painful to get up from a lying position. I didn't have a recliner but I couldn't sit up anyhow without feeling sick. For those contemplating getting a BA, I strongly suggest having someone stay with you the first night of the surgery. I noticed the next day, that I had a spot of dried blood on one of my bandages so that might have been from pulling myself up out of bed.

Postop day1: Still a little bit nauseous but feeling better. Both of my breasts feel really tight though. During the day, there was a sharp pain along the inner side of my right breast. My PS called to check on me and suggested that I take the valium that she prescribed ahead of time. It worked and the pain went away. It helped with the tightness as well. My nausea went away in the afternoon so I didn't ask my PS to prescribe antinausea meds for me. I'm also able to move around better today, easier to get up from bed.

Postop day2: Feeling less sore today and able to move around much better. Been taking vicodin the past two days for pain but have decided to stop taking it because it was contributing to my nausea. I was not really that sore anymore so I just took ibuprofen. Got a sharp pain on the outer left breast today all of a sudden, took a valium, and the pain went away. My PS told me that it was from the muscles going into spasms. Breasts are still very tight, right one is softening up a bit. I've been wearing a sports bra and a bra band and have had to loosen them every so often. I bought a sports bra with a zipper in front at my PS's suggestion and that was a great idea because I could easily unzip the bra when it felt too tight.I'm also putting ice on my breast to try to keep the swelling down. I also suggest using a bag of frozen peas or an ice pack because I used ice in a ziplock bag and it kept leaking even though it was zipped up, go figure.

Postop day3: Feeling less tight, less sore, able to move around much better. Even did some housework but had to remind myself not to do any
heavy lifting. Right breast is softer than the left. The left also seems to sit higher than the right. I hope they even out.

Postop day4-6: Almost no soreness, still taking valium for the tightness, feeling way better.

Postop day7: Went to follow up appt with PS today. Took steri strips off. Both scars are pink, the left one has a little bit of thickness. I hope it goes away. I scar easily so I'm a little bit worried about it. My PS told me to use bacitracin for now and start using mederma in a month.I also tried on some bras today just for the heck of it because I happened to be at a dept store. I was able to fit a 34D in some styles and a 34C in others. Wow...what a difference from 32AA. Yay, no more padded bras! My breasts are still sitting kind of high and my left breast is a little bit bigger than my right, but I'm hoping they will even out when they drop. I pretty happy with the results.I think I should have gone with 375CC instead of 350's but I'm happy with the results.
