Breast Implants and Breast Augmentation Stories from our Visitors

If you have already read Nicole's Story, you have a pretty good idea what this section of the website is all about. After several women emailed their breast augmentation stories to us, we thought it would be great to have women share their full-length recovery stories after their breast implant surgeries for everyone's benefit. Thankfully, many women have contributed, some in more detail than others.

Here are the stories of our visitors. Many names have been changed for privacy. Where appropriate, there is detail in parentheses so you can decide if you are interested. Click on a name to read.

From Saline to Silcone--and a capsulectomy!

My plastic surgeon was Dr. John M. Shamoun
Ten years ago, I visited ImplantInfo.com and located three surgeons I ended up having consultations with. After "interviewing" the three different doctors, I decided to go with Dr. Shamoun of Newport Beach. I was struck by his expertise (especially with women needing revisions), credentials, bedside manner, and conservative approach. I was a 34B and, with the help of Saline, high profile breast implants (silicone breast implants weren't available to me at the time) I went up to a small D. I loved my result but, unfortunately, I developed capsular contracture in one breast.

Nine and a half years later, not only had my left breast become painful but the look of saline didn't agree with me anymore--I wanted something with a more natural look and feel (I was a small D). I went back to Dr. Shamoun and he performed a capsulectomy and replaced the saline with silicone. They're exactly the size (34C) and shape I wanted and I've healed (knock on wood!) beautifully. So far, so great!

Dr. Shamoun gave me EXACTLY what I wanted--a natural-looking 34 C using Silicone, moderate profiles, and removed that pesky capsule that had given me problems. For anyone on the fence on getting augmentation, do realize that a complication like I had is possible. But putting that aside, I'm so pleased with the procedures I had and would do it again. Yes, there are risks, as with anything, and being aware of that is important. For me, the good outweighs the bad ten fold. Thank you for this site, Nicole; you helped me locate a very talented and caring surgeon, and I highly recommend him to anyone in the Southern California area. For anyone interested in more about my doctor/story, please send me a message.:-)
