Breast Implants and Breast Augmentation Stories from our Visitors

If you have already read Nicole's Story, you have a pretty good idea what this section of the website is all about. After several women emailed their breast augmentation stories to us, we thought it would be great to have women share their full-length recovery stories after their breast implant surgeries for everyone's benefit. Thankfully, many women have contributed, some in more detail than others.

Here are the stories of our visitors. Many names have been changed for privacy. Where appropriate, there is detail in parentheses so you can decide if you are interested. Click on a name to read.

Weight Loss Leads to Breast Implants

My plastic surgeon was Dr. Patricia Eby
I found my plastic surgeon on ImplantInfo by Nicole I would recommend my plastic surgeon to others.

I am now 43 years old have had 2 children and was married for 24 years. My story begins when I began to loose weight about 2 years ago, due to my need and want to loose weight and some very difficult personal times. Growing up I never had a weight issue. When I turned 35 the pounds began to pile on. I had gained 23 pounds, at this point I weighted 135, which is a lot from the previous 112lbs I was use to, during this time I did have nice size and nice looking breast. That was about the only nice thing about weight gain.

The problem began when I turned 40 and began to loose weight, I also lost my breast. I was very uncomfortable with the way my breast looked and no longer felt attractive. During this time I also got divorced after 24 years and began seeing a much younger man (who I love dearly). The one thing he (my new boyfriend) likes is nice sized breast and I just did not have them anymore. So I felt even more unattractive. When I lost the weight I began to think about breast implants and when I started dating I decide it was crazy to feel the way I did and decided to check into the surgery, risk, size, etc.

I started by researching online and came across Nicole's website. This site was the most informative site I found. I read the stories, reviewed the pictures and even found a local doctor. The next thing was to call and make the appointment, which I did. We had 3 appointments with Dr. Eby before the actual surgery. She and her office staff were great! I had concerns regarding the risk, type, size, healing time, length of time the implants last, etc. I also wanted help with the size and type of implants, she was great in helping me with this. After looking at pictures and implant samples, myself, boyfriend and Dr. Eby decided on the type and size. Dr. Eby and her staff answered all our questions, concerns in a caring manner. We chose the saline implants at 350cc, with my age I did qualify for the silicone implants, but I was afraid of those and they cost a lot more. The big day was then scheduled for May 16, 2007 (I was 42 years old).

The day finally came with some nervousness. I have never had surgery or even been in a hospital other than the birth of my two children, which I only spent a day in the hospital with each one. We got up at 5:00 a.m. and drove to the hospital for the 7:00 a.m. scheduled surgery time. We checked in, got to our room and was ready to go by 6:15 a.m. The hospital staff was great, they assured me things would be okay and even said I had the best doctor in the area so not to worry.

One of the nurses said if she were going to have implants they would chose Dr. Eby, so by this point the nervousness was gone. They then took me to the surgery prep room. Dr. Eby then came in and marked the areas, asked if I had any final questions or concerns, with there being none, we were on our way. I then woke up in my room about 2 hours later. The only problem I had was trying to get out of bed I got sick to my stomach and felt week. At 5:00 that afternoon me and my boyfriend was heading home. I stayed in bed the rest of that night and was able to get up and move around some the next morning. I was sore for a few days and still a little week but that was all.

Dr. Eby's office called me the next morning and asked how things were going and if I had any questions and scheduled a follow up appointment for a week later. The pain from the surgery was gone a few days after surgery, I did not feel like running a marathon or anything, but life began to get back to normal except even better. Now I looked and felt like a complete woman again.

I look and feel better than I have in a very long time. (pictures have been submitted) Dr. Eby did a great job, it is now 6 months later and there is no scaring, nor any issues. I could not for better results, or a better look, nor a better doctor. I do have a small amount of rippling on each side of the breast, but it's not enough to worry about and it is not seen. The results are just fantastic! I love them, as well as does my boyfriend. He would like to show them off to his friends, but he also wants to keep them to himself, as well as, I would not show them to anyone else. (other than this website to help others out)

My 18 year old daughter who said she would never have it done and thought I was crazy for even considering it, likes mine so much she now wants it done.

If you are concerned, just do the research and make sure you get a good doctor, I really think that is the key. This is your body so you need to be sure the doctor cares about you. I usually am pretty good at bargain shopping and I know I could have gone elsewhere and saved a few thousand dollars or so, but, this is one thing were the word cheap was not even considered. I think you get what you pay for and I paid well but got great results. I don't regret one penny of it, it was worth it. I could not be any happier!
