Breast Implants and Breast Augmentation Stories from our Visitors

If you have already read Nicole's Story, you have a pretty good idea what this section of the website is all about. After several women emailed their breast augmentation stories to us, we thought it would be great to have women share their full-length recovery stories after their breast implant surgeries for everyone's benefit. Thankfully, many women have contributed, some in more detail than others.

Here are the stories of our visitors. Many names have been changed for privacy. Where appropriate, there is detail in parentheses so you can decide if you are interested. Click on a name to read.

Breast Augmentation/Lift Revision

My plastic surgeon was Dr. Donald Revis
I always knew that I wanted and needed a breast lift and augmentation. The idea of it was exciting, but yet so very scary to me. I always had “large breasts” being a size C when I was younger and pre-kids only to become a DD/DDD with pregnancies and breastfeeding my daughters. My breasts have always sat kind of low on my chest wall; I have a slightly more rounded chest and even had asymmetry. After pregnancies, nursing, and weight fluctuations, I was a very deflated and saggy D cup.

My journey with surgery started in my mid-thirties when I was sure I was done having kids. I started having some consultations to see what my options were. I was told I needed a lift and 500cc implants to get the look I wanted. Some doctors said I should get a donut lift on one side and full anchor lift on the other, and some said to do an anchor lift on both. I got way too scared to go through with it so I held off. A few more years went by, and I was facing the big 4-0 and realized how unhappy I was in buying clothes, dresses, bras and bathing suits. I decided to give myself the very BEST 40th birthday gift ever - new boobs. It was the right time in my life, and I kept thinking 'If I don’t do it now then I won’t ever do it, enough contemplating it!'

So I went on a local consult and really liked the doctor. I had some friends who had work completed by him also. I went ahead and booked my surgery right after meeting with him. There is a saying I think applied to me, “People only want to go around the block for an augmentation but will go around the world for a revision.” So very true! Long story short, I ended up having terrible results - not the look that I wanted, pockets were over dissected and I slowly bottomed out. He used HP 465’s O/F to around 500ccs. I really wish I would have paid more attention to his work. The lesson I would share with all of you reading this is when you have a chance to LOOK and review his work do it very carefully. Don’t be rushed and don’t just listen to them sell themselves to you. I look back now and wish I had spent more time looking at his before/after pictures when they gave me his laptop. Unfortunately, he came into the room very quickly, and I had only looked at 2-3 patient pictures.

Luckily, I found Dr. Revis, one of the BEST revision doctors in the US and he happened to be in Florida only about 5 hours away. An email consultation, careful review of his work and learning about lots and lots of happy patients, I decided to schedule my revision. My revision included major pocket work, internal sutures (his internal bra), and much larger and wider implants. I had a terrible gap and no cleavage from my first procedure. I gave him some pictures to use as a guide so he could see the look I was hoping to achieve, keeping in mind my body and shape is unique and he can only do so much. I know many readers will think that 700 moderate plus saline implants O/F to 750 and 800cc’s sound huge, but on my frame with my hips and height they really are just perfect!

Always do your homework as the patient, ask lots of questions, and take a very close work at their work. I wish I had found Dr. Revis earlier and before I needed a revision!
