Pain Pump Survey

Postoperative pain management systems are usually externally worn pumps that are designed to provide fast, direct pain relief, without the use of narcotics.  The pumps are normally equipped with a bladder/balloon system that uses pressure to deliver medicine directly to the pain site via a small tube at a very slow rate, numbing the sore area and providing quick, direct relief for several days.

One benefit of these devices is that pain medications may not need to be taken, so there would be no narcotic side effects.  You could feel better faster, recover comfortably, keep a clear head, possibly reduce the length of hospital stay, and at your doctor's discretion, return to normal activities sooner.  Doctors and the companies that make these systems would like to learn as much as possible so as to be able to deliver this system to patients.   Your feedback in answering the following nine questions will be a big step in that direction.  Thanks for your feed back!  Nicole
