She is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and a residency in plastic surgery at Indiana University Medical Center. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She is a member of the Indianapolis Medical Society, Indiana State Medical Association, American Medical Association, Ohio Valley Society for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. She is frequently called upon to speak about plastic and reconstructive surgery.
