About Our SurgeonsGrand Rapids and Western Michigan recognize that Plastic Surgery Associates surgeons are among the most experienced leaders in their field. Read on to learn more about the high standards to which our surgeons adhere.
Credentials. Professional credentials mean a lot in plastic surgery. They exemplify a surgeon who has been trained appropriately, achieved the recognition of his peers, has had his skills and abilities assessed by qualified medical bodies, and has been found to be competent to perform the full spectrum of plastic surgery procedures by those bodies.
Rigorous training. Our surgeons are trained specialists with extensive experience in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery procedures. All have had gone to medical school, done general surgical residencies, plastic surgery residencies, and had additional training beyond their plastic surgery residencies. In addition, each pursues continuing education throughout his career.
Teaching and research. As leaders in the field, our surgeons now give back to the medical community in various ways. Our surgeons are faculty members at Michigan State University and teach future surgeons through a local medical education center. They also participate in plastic surgery medical research projects. These activities help our surgeons to stay on the cutting edge of their profession.
Volunteer services. Our physicians are committed to donating their time and skills to those in our country and in foreign nations who don’t have access to quality plastic reconstructive surgery. They periodically help those less fortunate by performing reconstructive procedures for free to those who might not otherwise have access to quality medical care.
