About the Doctors

Dr. Newall

Newall is recognized as one of Houston's leading plastic surgeons. As a leader in the field of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. Newall has moderated and served on a number of panels tasked with the responsibility of developing the latest techniques in plastic surgery. In addition to being a highly sought after speaker and commentator, Dr. Newall has authored scientific publications, written articles for local and national publications, appeared on local and international TV programs and interviewed on local radio stations. The list of media appearances include TV Channel 45, the local Fox® affiliate Channel 20, Texas Woman® magazine, Health and Fitness® magazine, Inside Houston® magazine, The Houston Chronicle® and The Houston Post®. His international media appearances and numerous published articles in local Latin media include local Peruvian magazines and newspapers Caretas®, Cosas Expreso®, and Nove Da Des®.

Dr. Mentz

Dr. Mentz is a founder and partner of The Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery, one of the largest private plastic surgery teams in the country specializing in aesthetic surgery. His extensive training and magnitude of experience have merited Triple Board Certification. He is the first surgeon in the United States to hold these three boards. His distinguished credentials in facial rejuvenation with special interest in body contouring have proven his commitment and enthusiasm for the specialty of plastic surgery. He is known as the inventor of the abdominal etching technique after publishing the first article in 1993. While Dr. Mentz has been important in innovating new liposuction techniques he has also dedicated a large portion of is practice to facial surgery. Facelifts, rhinoplasty (nasal surgery) and eyelid/brow surgery will always be an important part of his practice. Creating new techniques in facial rejuvenation and facial contouring through publications, presentations and text chapters have taken a portion of his time.

Dr. Mentz occasionally travels with the team to San Jose to deliver surgical services to under privileged children in Mexico, Latin America and South America born with Cleft lips and palates.

Dr. Patronella

Christopher K. Patronella, M.D. FACS, a native Houstonian, graduated from St. Thomas High School in Houston in 1975, received his Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M graduating summa cum laude in 1978, and received his Medical Doctor degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston in 1982.

His outstanding academic achievements placed him in the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, the Beta Beta Beta Biological Society, the Phi Kappa Phi Academic Honor Society and the Mu Delta Medical Service Honor Society.

He attended the renowned Ochsner Clinic and Medical Foundation in New Orleans for his internship and surgical residency programs. He completed his plastic surgery fellowship at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston.As co-founder and managing partner of The Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery, one of the largest private medical partnerships specializing in cosmetic surgery in the state of Texas, he works closely with ACPS-The SurgiCentre, a private AAAASF, certified operating room licensed also by the Texas Department of Health to do local or general anesthesia. His influence in formulating the philosophy of The Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery is reflected in the specialized service and commitment to excellence in surgical techniques and care provided for his patients.

The Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery is committed to continuing its ongoing development, setting the highest standards for quality of care in the field of plastic surgery.

Dr. Patronella is board certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery, the only plastic surgery board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties. He also has the prestigious honor of being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), elected in 1994 by a committee of his peers and colleagues for outstanding clinical care. He has also been invited as a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons in 1997.

He maintains Active Membership status in the American Society for Plastic Surgeons, the Lipoplasty Society of North America and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery which enables him to stay current on the latest developments and technical advances in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. He has also been chosen for membership in the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery recognizing expertise and experience in the field of cosmetic surgery.
