Dr. Douglas Vander Woude joined Plastic Surgery Associates in 1998 and has established a practice focused primarily on cosmetic facial surgery; cosmetic and reconstructive breast procedures; and body contouring. He completed a full general surgical residency at University of Michigan Medical Center prior to receiving his plastic surgery training in the Brigham/Harvard/Children's Division of Plastic Surgery in Boston. Dr. Vander Woude is board certified in both Plastic Surgery and General Surgery and has completed specialty fellowships in Craniofacial Surgery as well as Hand and Microsurgery. Having trained with one of the foremost experts in management of cleft lip and palate syndromes while in Boston; a portion of his practice involves evaluation and management of such patients.

Dr. Vander Woude returned to Grand Rapids in 1998 to be closer to his family. He is actively involved in the training of future plastic surgeons in Grand Rapids and in conjunction with this; has been appointed an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Michigan State University. Dr. Vander Woude provides compassionate care in a highly professional and confidential setting.
