What People Are Saying About...
L. Dwight Baker, M.D.
Nicole~I found Dr. Baker thanks to you. He is an expert! His staff is a great group of sweet ladies and are never too busy to answer your questions & make you feel special. I had my breast augmentation on 4/10/08. I really questioned myself about getting this procedure. I am a young 54 yr. old and so the age thing was somewhat troubling for me in coming to a decision. Thank you for your very informative website & leading me to Dr. Baker. I know now I made the right decision & I couldn't be happier now that I have beautiful full breasts. He is a wonderful doctor and in my opinion an expert in his field. I live in the panhandle of FlA and could have gone to one of many doctors in the vicinity. But I decided to travel the 3 hrs to go to Dr. Baker because of the positive feedback on your website about him. His affiliate hospital I went to for my surgery was the best hospital I have ever been in. I have had many surgeries in my life, including 4 back surgeries. I must say the care I received there was the best I ever experienced. I'm only one week post op and I feel great There is no brusing at all & the discomfort was a walk in the park for me. His choice & combinations of pre & post-op medications has helped make this sugery a breeze to go thru. I would recommend Dr. Baker to any woman deciding on breast augmentation. Thanks again, Nicole. Jeanne
I found my plastic surgeon on ImplantInfo by Nicole! I highly recommend Dr. Baker. This man has many years of experience and believe me, he knows what he is doing!! He gave me anatomical, textured implants. I am so pleased with the results that I cried!!! (and not from the pain). His bedside manner is outstanding and his office staff are so, so nice and make you feel like you are the only patient that they have. I can't say enough about Dr. Baker and his staff. I went in thinking I would have to have a lift and the an augmentation because I breastfed two kids for six months with both. He examined and measured me and told me that I did not need the lift and that he could give me the lift that I was looking for with the implants and a certain little trick during surgery. I am very pleased with the results and just can't say enough about the job he did and about how nice this man and his staff are!!! Thanks Dr. Baker!!
I wanted to share my experience with other women who are considering Dr. Baker in Dothan, AL for their breast augmentation, because it was largely through reading the positive feedback on this website that I chose him myself.
I'm from the Houston, TX area and had Dr. Baker do my breast augmentation revision on April 12th. I traveled 10 1/2 hours by car and across 2 states to get to this wonderful surgeon and his outstanding practice! I went for the 3-day procedure on April 11, 12, and 13, and am now one week post-op. I can personally attest to the fact that all that has been said about Dr. Baker and professional staff is completely and 100% accurate! I am so pleased with my results.
This recent surgery with Dr. Baker has been my 3rd augmentation within the last 12 years. I received my first saline implants in 1993 and the second set (also saline) in 1997. Both BAs were done by different surgeons, also board-certified and very well respected in their fields. After 4 years of having my first implants and breastfeeding my first son, I had a revision done in '97 to correct capsular contracture and asymmetrical breasts. I was very happy with the results and forgot all about my implants until just recently...
This past March I experienced a horrifying complication that we all hope will never happen...an implant deflation. After 8 years of being "complication free", my right implant ruptured without any cause or trauma. I must add that I my implant volume was only 300 cc and that I was a small C. I have a very small frame and chose to stay with implants that would not exceed the limitations of my body. But because I had done my research and chosen well with my previous doctor (from Dallas, TX) in 1997, the saline was simply absorbed by my tissues over a period of 3-4 days. I remained infection-free, but was psychologically distressed about my state of deformity. (I nearly lost my mind!) I was left with the dilemma of which surgeon to choose, who could schedule an appointment quickly, and how I was going to pay for this "unforeseen" surgery to remove and replace both my implants. Fortunately, Mentor offers a lifetime replacement for their implants due to deflations.
- So why did I choose Dr. Baker as opposed to a plastic surgeon in the Dallas or Houston area?
- I was impressed with Dr. Baker's philosophy and goals as a plastic surgeon. (Check out his website.)
- He has the experience, and very impressive credentials/affiliations.
- His fees are affordable. (Considerably more affordable than in my area!)
- He is very thorough and honest. (No fluff...only realistic expectations of what he can do to improve your body.)
- Long distance, his staff was very professional, extremely helpful, and worked quickly to accommodate me. (I got warm fuzzy feelings interacting with those dolls via phone and email!)
To summarize, there are many good plastic surgeons out there, but Dr. Baker is the "5 star" surgeon. If you want pretty breasts that suit you, and not just a pair of implants stuffed into your body for the sake of having "bigger boobs", Dr. Baker is a wise choice. I am very happy with his work! I went slightly larger to a full C/small D. I had minimal discomfort, little swelling, and no rippling. My breasts are proportional to my body, neither sitting too high nor too low. I was also able to make that long drive home without any problems. My overall experience was very positive and I highly recommend Dr. Baker to all of you women out there! He is now the only doctor for me. Thank you Dr. Baker & staff - Karen, Jeanie, and Kim! I look great and feel great...I AM SO HAPPY!

I have been considering a BA for years. When I started to do research this time around, I found out about Dr L. Dwight Baker in Dothan, Alabama. I am from NY and decided to fly to Dothan and have my BA performed by Dr Baker. I had heard from prior patients of his, and they were all very pleased with the results. I can now say I am also one of them!
Dr Baker has years of experience behind him. I was excited to get this procedure done and meet him. I was there as an out of town patient, which is something that his office is well prepared for. They sent me information about local hotels and maps. It was easy enough for me to put everything together to prepare for my trip. His staff is wonderful and answered the questions I had.
The reasons I chose Dr Baker is because of the patient feedback, experience, reputation, and cost. In NYC BAs can run high...maybe it is the highest in the US. NY surgeons are twice the amount of what he charges, some even three times. That has nothing to do with his skill, but merely a reflection of the difference in cost of living in different parts of the US. I could have afforded to have the procedure done here, but decided against it. Maybe I was frustrated by the surgeons I had seen.
I can say that with my experience everything went so well...from meeting him, to the surgery, to my post op recovery! Dr Baker is an expert in his technique...and he puts together a wonderful team to accomplish the mission. Everything comes together so well...from him, his staff, to the anesthesiologist, and to the hospital. After my initial consult of questions, answers and measurements, the next day was the surgery. I was amazed by Flowers hospital...nothing like I have seen! The staff was truly wonderful and professional. My short stay there will always remain in my mind as awesome. I had no fear going into the surgery...I had trusted Dr Baker completely and also trusted him to make the right decision on what was best for me. I had no problems with anesthesia and waking out of it. I was fully aware as soon as I woke up and didn't experience pain from the surgery. The first thing I said to Dr Baker when I saw him in the recovery room was "thank you"...I felt so good and I knew that I was now on the other side!
I returned to my hotel room and didn't experience much discomfort. I was able to walk around and not feel the need to rush to lay down or pain. Dr Baker had given me good prescriptions, which included antibiotics, a pain med, and muscle relaxers. I didn't feel medicated. After a few hours I did feel a little discomfort, but nothing like what I expected and it was very manageable! It went away after a few hours and I was so happy that I wasn't in pain and felt so good! I knew I would have to fly back home in 3 days. Could I do it? Yes, without one single problem. I had originally ask his staff if they thought I could make a return trip at 2 days post op. They thought I would be able to, but I booked my return flight for 3 days post op just to be sure. When I got home I made a short driving trip to my local market. No problems driving either, I kept my hands at 5 and 7 o'clock on the steering wheel.
I am very happy with my results so far. I am only 2 weeks post op at this point, but everything has been easy. Dr Baker had used 410 ccs to get the results that were best for me. I was a size B before, and I believe I will end up a size D, which is what I wanted. Dr Baker did say he doesn't go huge. I did tell him pre-op that I was hoping to end up a D because I am tall and it would balance with my body. So far, so good! My size is not too big, not too small, but just right for my frame.
If I was to do the whole procedure again, I would return to Dr Baker in a heart beat! I love the results so far and look forward to more happiness to come! If you have any questions or are considering Dr Baker for a BA, feel free to email me at HappyInNYC123@aol.com
I have been deciding whether to get breast augmentation for 2 years, for the last year I have studied relentlessly so I would be very well informed. After I found your site I didn't need to look anywhere else. I decided to use Dr. Baker in Dothan AL before even noticing he was on your site so when I went to his site and saw a link to you I was pleasantly surprised. well today I had my consultation and when Dr. Baker asked if I had any questions I told him "no, I have been researching on the internet for a year." He said that concerned him because he is the doctor and a lot of the stuff on the internet can be misleading.. He kind of looked at me Like I needed to explain so I told him I had studied his site and the site by Nicole.. He stood up and shook my hand and told me all his concerns were gone. If someone says the name Nicole to him then he knows they have done their homework and have the facts straight. We talked about you for a good 10 minutes!! Anyway Thank you for all the info you have given all of us. My surgery is April 27th so I will keep reading and let you know how it goes!
Thanks Again,
Tammy
First of all, let me tell you how much I LOVE Dr Baker and his staff. His office is so nice and I felt sooooo comfortable at every visit. I had my surgery on October 9, so I am a little over 3 1/2 mo Post Op. I am sooooo happy with my results. I met with other PS's in my hometown, but none of them made me feel very confident in their work. I also live right at 2 hours away from Dothan. It is well worth the drive! I am 5'4" and weigh 135 lbs, so our body structure is obviously different, but I am sooooo happy with what Dr. Baker did for me. He will tell you that he is conservative, he is not in the business of making you huge, but will make you proportionate, which is what I wanted and I definitely got! I was a very saggy 36B (barely) I breastfed 3 children and basically had no breast tissue left, just empty sacks of skin. I had to have a lift with implants so my surgery cost more due to the additional surgical procedure. I also qualified for silicone at the time since I was having a lift, so that was more also. With my lift, my on left side I had to have more work done, because the sag was greater so there is a little longer of a scar. You really can't even tell though. On my right side, he did a lift also, but was able to do everything around the areola, so you see no scar at all.

Nicole, I found find Dr. Baker from your site. I started all of my research from the site, and sought my feed back from other people who have used Dr. Baker and were on your message boards. I still talk to several of them outside the site after two years. My other considerations in choosing Dr. Baker were location, price, feedback from other patients, skill and the number of BA's done.
You are doing a wonderful job. Sondra

I used Dr. Baker to go 2 sizes bigger. He did such a wonderful job that none of the friends I have made since I got my implants, have any clue. (unless I've told them). Dr. Baker told me that he concentrates on making women proportioned as opposed to huge. I knew right up front that I wasn't getting anything huge, but I'm so well-proportioned.
I had no problems at all (rippling, sensitivity lost etc..) and had a wonderful and easy recovery. I'm very happy with my results and I would go see Dr Baker all over again. E-mail me if you need more info. Kris Dustie_74@hotmail.com

Nicole, I had my BA on July 26th. We moved it up from the original date of the 30th. Everything Went really well. Dr Baker implanted me with the silicone, smooth, round, under the muscle. The implant volume was only 350cc's, but with my stat's of being 6ft tall, 130lbs, rc 29inches. That is what he felt comfortable in giving me. He tried 375cc's and it did not look good at all. I am doing great, I don't have any rippling or visible seeing the implant. My recovery went really well and continues to do so. Thanks for asking
Take care........Cindy

Nicole, I would love to give my story about my augmentation I got on May 9th. It was absolutely no big deal at all. The post op pain was only minimal that night the day after I was home picking up my 6 month old baby. (I had no choice) I had a wonderful surgeon and he was so very affordable! He see patients from all of the US and he is located in a little town called Dothan, Alabama. I would recommend his very small nimble hands to everyone. I went from a very deflated c that had turned into a b after breast feeding for the second time and I am now a very lovely over full D. I hope they stay that way!
Thank you for a great web site, you are truly doing a great job informing all the gals out there!

Hi Nicole,
Just wanted to recommend my plastic surgeon to anyone who can get to him. Dr. Dwight L. Baker in Dothan AL, Dothan Plastic Surgery. I am two weeks post op today, had 315cc's in the right, and 330cc's in the left. I don't know what size implant he used so I don't know if that's overfill or not. I should have asked, because I am curious about that. I had crease incisions and went under the muscle with saline. I got my stitches out yesterday and other than a few tiny scabs, I can barely even see my incisions. From the day of surgery I have had absolutely no bruises. My breasts are beautiful, beyond what I expected. The pre-op education I received from his staff and from your site had me more than prepared because I can honestly say it was an easy surgery and recovery. Hoping I don't jinx myself by bragging, but I can't help but share my good experience. I guess having a horrific experience with my c section five years ago and post partum depression, I realized that nothing could be much worse than that. And I was right!Anyway, I live in South Carolina and it was about 350 miles to Dr. Baker's from me, but my sister in law had gone to him (found him on the internet and researched him thoroughly) as well as two friends of hers (one of which had her BA six years ago and has done extremely well). After seeing her results and taking about a year to convince myself that I deserve the same and not feel guilty for indulging in such a seemingly selfish act, and reading every ounce of material I could on Dr. Baker, I went for it and couldn't be more pleased that I did!
He didn't spend a lot of time with me pre-op, but his work speaks for itself, and his staff spent all the time I needed with me before and after. Also the hospital, Flowers Hospital in Dothan AL was exceptional. Overall I had a terrific experience and really feel for any woman who has less than that because we all deserve that much.
Your site is a blessing as if I need to tell you that! Thank you everyday, for having it!--Suzy Q
Hi, Last year I used Dr. Dwight Baker in Dothan, Al. after seeing what a great job he did for a friend of mine. I went from a small A to a very natural looking C cup with the high profile saline implants that Dr. Baker recommended. I did exactly what he said after my surgery & had no problems. He's great, I wish I'd done it sooner. Fortunately I happen to live within driving distance of Dothan, but if you don't it will be worth the trip here. If you want to be proud of your bustline he can do that for you.
Connie
