What Patients Say About . . .
Dr. Weiglein
Greetings, all.
I would like to take this opportunity to put forth my recommendation for Dr. Weiglein, in Burlington, Ontario.
The Doctor: An absolutely wonderful man with a stellar bedside presence. He is affable, laid-back, very funny and he knows his stuff. I was completely at ease with Doc Otto from the moment I started to speak with him. He covered all ground, made sure I understood everything, offered his insight and was very reassuring. Big bonus: he made me laugh! Can't tell you how important it is to be at ease with the doctor who's going to assist in radically changing one's life! Doc Otto also knows his stuff and is highly experienced in cosmetic surgery; it's all he does, and he's 'credentialed' to the teeth.
The Facility: Outstanding facility. Made the experience memorable!
The Doc's Team: Aces, folks, aces! Josie is a sweetheart, knows her stuff and is a people person. She tells it like it is and is a wonderful support. The nurses are great; I was well taken care of from start to finish. The anasthesiologist is a quiet, soft-spoken man and boy is he amazing! When he inserted the IV, I hardly felt a thing (and he had to go to the top of my hand, too!). Very caring man.
The Surgery: I have no words, really. It was a breeze, is all I can really say. The combination of Doc Otto and his team made the whole experience a calm and relaxing one. I now wonder why I waited so long!
All in all, I feel most comfortable giving my highest recommendations for Dr. Otto Weiglein. Outstanding surgeon who's given me outstanding results!
T o Doc Otto and team: a great big THANK YOU! You've made one of my life dreams come true!

Thanks again, Nicole, for maintaining the implantinfo site -- it has been invaluable to me as I prepped for surgery, and as I now walk through recovery! I don't think I would have actually pursued a BA had it not been for your site! I appreciate you and all that you do! My kudos to you!
Regards,
Caz
I live in Hamilton, Ontario and in Dec/03 I had breast augmentation surgery performed by Dr. Otto Weiglein. It was wonderful to be one of his patients. The entire staff is fantastic. Dr. Weiglein's accreditation is very high and I found the entire experience empowering! I'm trilled with my new look and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Hi Nicole,
I did go to Dr. Weiglein and it went beautifully.
I had hardly any pain at all. In fact I only took about two painkillers the first post-op day and none from then on.
The bruising was minimal too, although I was quite swollen for several weeks. I looked like a cartoon character with breasts up to my neck for a while.
My case, as you know, was a little different from many others'. Having had a breast reduction at age 19, I'd been told by another doctor that I would only be able to have an over-the-muscle implant. I didn't want that because I didn't want sagging down the road. Dr. Weiglein, on the other hand, assured me he'd be able to do under-the-muscle and that there wouldn't be any additional scarring because he would make incisions where the original below-the-breast ones had been made. In fact, Dr. Weiglein's work reduced my original scarring, as he left a thinner, cleaner scar than the original, with no puckering.
It took a few months for my breasts to settle into the shape they now have, which is full and perfect. At first however, there was a dent in one of them, but that filled out when the sutures loosened up. I also had one aureola made smaller but unfortunately it stretched again and is now larger than the other one. It probably should have been done after the implants were put in. But that's a minor imperfection considering the enormous improvement Dr. Weiglein achieved in terms of shape, size, fullness and the disappearance of stretch marks.
You can post this letter on your website if you wish.
Thanks for your interest and for your very useful website.
Hi Nicole,
I've been actively participating on your question and answer board for some time and finally had a breast augmentation and full lift on December 18th. I wanted to take a moment to thank you for providing this website which is full of the knowledge a woman requires to make a skilled decision. The discussion board has answered any other questions, even the silly ones, that I have had from time to time and thereafter the support board has been a great help.Thank you.
I'm also emailing feedback with regard to one of your sponsoring surgeons, Dr.Otto Weiglein. I've had the best experience. His staff at reception were sooooo helpful when I first called to make a consultation appointment. As a matter of fact I was at work when I called and didn't want to disclose the purpose of the consultation for everyone to hear and they were absolutely great about it all. The patient co-ordinator - Josie - is a fabulous woman. I'm not sure how she does it but she virtually makes herself always available and tries extremely hard to accomodate everyone on the patients schedule...if you can believe that one for a doctors office. I was made to feel completely at ease as embarassed as I thought I would be through the consultation. Dr.Weiglein was interested in how I felt about my interaction with Josie which I found interesting given that's not generally asked of the patients. Obviously, he is concerned that he has the best staff in his company.
The surgical facility is very calming. Graciously decorated but not overdone. You certainly don't feel as though you are funding the decor. Dr. Weiglein is very personable, helpful, humorous and most understanding. I felt comfortable with him instantly. He's quite humble for his expertise. He made a point of making sure I was comfortable with the options, took the time to answer as many questions as I had without making me feel small or irrelevant. He made himself available a second time to go over the finer details once a decision was reached to book the surgery. He offered 2 post-op patients for me to speak with and even had a post-op patient come in so that I could visually see the difference of implants I was interested in having.
The day of the surgery I was addressed with the utmost of care. Everyone including Dr.Weiglein went out of their way to make me feel as comfortable with the procedure as was possible. Even my fiancee remarked on the friendliness of everyone and he too became very comfortable. I left with Dr.Weiglein's home phone number and cell phone number in the event of an emergency. The following day my surgical nurse called to see how I was feeling and if I had any concerns. I've had 3 post op appointments since the surgery which I believe has been very crucial in warding off any complications and I was given the home phone number of the nurse I generally see in his office to have in case of any questions over the holidays. I did have reason to call and she (Maddie) was extremely decent about it given I was calling her at home through the holidays.
It seems funny to say given this was a surgery and has carried it's related discomforts but it has been a very pleasant experience for me. I thought I'd let you know more about my experience with Dr.Weiglein given he is listed on your site.
Thanks again for making this process so much easier.
Tina
Hi Nicole,
Your site has helped me enormously and I wish I had learned of it sooner.
I chose Dr. Otto Weiglein. He is located in Burlington, Ontario. He is extremely talented, warm, very thorough, listens well, careful, pays attention to details and I as well as all of his patients just adore him! My reasons for chosing him as my new PS is due to the fact that I had many complications from a BA from 22 years ago, resulting with symmastia and displacement. I did know of Dr. DeWire and Dr. Shamoun and was aware of their wonderful expertise, especially with complications such as mine, however as I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, I needed someone closer to me.
After much researching I decided on Dr. Weiglein. He has had 25 yrs of experience with breast augmentations and all kinds of cosmetic procedures as well as nerosurgery involving re-attachment of limbs, etc. He had extensive experience all through Europe and also trained under Dr.Tebbetts. regarding the new cohesive gels. I had an instinct about him and he did such a wonderful job of all the reconstruction that I needed. I had so many problems with my first two BAs twenty two years ago, involving Bakers IV level of capsular contracture with my first round 200ccs subglandular salines within three months. These were replaced eightmonths later by the same original PS, this time with round 200ccs silicone implants again in the subglandular placement. I was reoperated on 5 hours later due to sudden severe hematoma involving extensive blood loss during surgery almost to the point of having to have a blood transfusion. Thinking that all my troubles were over and having to wear tight compression vests almost 24 hours a day for the first few months in order to hopefully prevent a repeat occurrence of the by now, dreaded CC, I finally noticed to my horror, a terrible gradual displacement of my left breast which had gravitated to the centre of my sternum as well as what I recently learned was symmastia, resulting with no cleavage or space between the two breasts.Upon consulting with my PS, at six months post-op, I was informed that I had gross displacement and was the " saddest case he had ever seen and had and he was sorry that there was nothing further that he could do to fix the problem". I unfortunately lived with this deformity for the past twenty two years until I stumbled upon pictures on these BA web sites and finally learned that there was a name for my conditions and that something could be done to correct this! The rest is history, and my new cohesive gels have never been softer with no sign of CC and although I've just had a minor revision ten days ago to repair bottoming out on one side as well as to put the finishing touches and permanent sutures in. to correct a small area of the of the original symmastia and to perfect the assymetry even further,
I have never had such a wonderful BA and recovery with great results for the first time in my life. It's been a long road for me and I should mention that both of these recent procedures were this time placed in the submuscular position.
I currently have textured anatomical 435 gms cohesive gels and they are extremely comfortable and I should mention that I was surprisingly completely pain free within three weeks of having this BA, and within 4 days after having this redo, I have been again, completely free of any pain or post- op discomfort!
Dr. Otto Weiglein is one fabulous Canadian PS I would recommend to anyone wishing a beautiful BA and he has wonderful expertise in repairing the most severest breast complications and deformities resulting from poor BAs done elsewhere.Thank you for reading this!
