What patients say about
John B. Tebbetts, M.D.

I had breast augmentation on June 17th by dr. John Tebbetts, Dallas TX. He was truly amazing!!! I first started looking into breast augmentation in March, went to another plastic surgeon and just felt unsure, he told me to put on a bra, stuffed two implants in and thought the larger of the two was best for me. I looked too big!!! He said 325cc was perfect for me. I had already told him the look I was trying to achieve; evidently he didn't listen too well. So I said forget it and decided it wasn't for me.

After some time passed, the idea came around again, I started looking on Nicole’s web site and read about Dr. John Tebbetts and decided to look into him. He and his wife, Terry, have written a book 'the best breast' which I got at the local library. I read it completely and thought “Wow, what a great surgeon he must be.” He didn't say, “have the surgery by me or you'll be sorry.” He explained what we should know before we pick a surgeon or you just might be sorry. His technique for breast augmentation has proven time and time again to be the least painful, quickest recovery while achieving the most natural looking breasts for your body.

Well let me tell you first hand, this doctor is amazing! He and Terry explained everything in detail. He also told me that the 325cc implant would have been too much for my breast - especially if I wanted natural looking breasts. I felt very little discomfort, only taking Ibuprofen! I felt good the night of the surgery! The morning after, I showered, cleaned and vacuumed my house, then went shopping and out to dinner that night!!!! My husband and I can't believe how great I am doing!

So if you really want the best, call Dr. John Tebbetts in Dallas, speak to his wife, Terry. She'll even send you their book free. Even if you have to come from out of state, which I heard many women do, it is so worth it!

As for me its day three after breast augmentation and they look great, can't wait till they drop and even look better! What a great experience. You won't be disappointed by choosing the best!

Daryl

Nicole,

I found Dr. Tebbetts on your site.  I ordered his book from your recommended reading list.   I just had my 2 yr. check up and couldn’t be happier.  My experience with him was just as good, if not better, than the one in the personal stories section.  I am today amazed at the pain some women go through to have this surgery.  I was shopping 4 hours after leaving his office, arms over my head, laying on them that evening as he instructed and not taking any strong pain medication.  As a matter of fact next summer I will be going to Dallas to help my sister-in-law.

 Once again thank you.  LaDonna

Nicole, I just wanted to say a very big, heartfelt thank you for your site and for responding personally to a couple of my questions last spring. I had wanted to have implants for years (after 4 babies, breastfeeding, etc...) and had finally made up my mind to go for it and had even scheduled a BA with a PS here in my small town. Then I discovered your site and learned so much. I ended up cancelling my BA with local surgeon last April and having a BA with Dr. Tebbetts last Friday. It went so well and was so easy. I had no real pain and only minor discomfort initially. I owe thanks for my positive experience to you because, if not for you, I would have made choices other than the ones I made (choices that wouldn't have been as good for me) and would not have gotten to know about Dr. T, who I think is just terrific! THANK YOU SO MUCH for the wonderful service you provide!

Here is a brief synopsis of my BA experience with Dr. Tebbetts. He was Fantastic.

I flew in from the Midwest, and arrived on a Thursday. I had my consultation with him that Thursday afternoon. I stayed with a friend of mine in Dallas, so we went out that evening, had dinner, and went home. The next morning, I went in at 7:45 for surgery. Even the waiting experience was pleasant. I waited in a comfortable recliner while I was being prepped for my surgery. I remember waking up immediately after surgery, and Dr. Tebbetts asked me to see if I could raise my arms above my head. I did it with no problem. That afternoon I went to the place where I was staying, with my friend, and I rested most of the day. However, I could change my own clothes (over my head) and do many other things with no problem. I took my prescribed medication that evening only. The next day (24 hours post-op) I took Advil, and never took anything else beyond that. I showered, blow-dried my hair, went shopping, got dressed, all at 24 hours post-op. I remember that evening, I made myself a sandwich and had no problem reaching the bread, which was in a cabinet, well above my head.

When I flew home (48 hours post-op), my children were not feeling well, and I was able to squat down and pick up my 20 lb. son with no problem. I'm now 4 days post-op and I have been sleeping on my side for the last two evenings. I must say that if I had to repeat this experience, I wouldn't change a thing. Dr. Tebbetts and his staff were very helpful, and professional. I am extremely pleased with my choice. As for the look, the partial-sub-muscular, anatomical implants I received look great now, but I think that they will look even better when they drop in a few months. That's about it. Let me know if I can answer any other questions for you. Thanks again for helping me find Dr. Tebbetts! Amy C.

Thank you so much for allowing an avenue for me to tell my story. I appreciate it and feel honored to be able to do so. You can certainly put my e-mail in with my story. Here is my transformation story:

My name is Barbara. When I was 10 years old and my sister entered puberty I began waiting with anticipation for my own breasts to develop. I am 43 years old and was still waiting until I discovered the book, "The Best Breast" by Dr. J. Tebbetts and Terrye Tebbetts. When I was 16 years old I began looking into every avenue I could find to increase my bust size. I was a 34AA and was so weary of not being able to find any clothes that fit. I tried vitamins, minerals, supplements, exercises, kleenex, socks, handkerchiefs, push-up bras and water bras. You name it, I tried it but nothing worked. I then began researching breast augmentation buy shied away because of the horror stories I had heard regarding the types of implants, the surgical procedures, and doctor's techniques.

I had interviewed with several doctors and found that most of them were singing the same tune, "Just find a picture of the breasts that you like and we will make you huge". Even though I was built just like a penguin didn't mean that I wanted to look like one, standing on it's head. I was wanting balance and form.

Then, in August 2000, my life changed forever. I was perusing the internet for literature on breast augmentations and found Dr. Tebbetts book, "The Best Breast". I read through the reviews and then decided to order it. When it arrived I read it from cover to cover that very night. The next night my husband and I read it together. After the third thoroughly reading we decided to e-mail Terrye Tebbetts with some questions. Her response was timely, thoughtful, and very knowledgeable. I then decided to make an appointment to discuss the possibility of an augmentation.

My first appointment was with Terrye Tebbetts. She and all of the staff have a way of making a patient feel like they are the only ones and I have NEVER had that experience at a doctor's office before. We were so impressed that we made another appointment to meet Dr. Tebbetts, himself. My appointment with the great doctor was more than I had anticipated. He spent as much time with me as I wanted, answering my questions and explaining even the smallest detail. He was the first doctor to tell me what I needed to hear. I was so excited to finally have found a doctor who could give me choices and explanations for the choices. I told him that my goal in the augmentation process was balance and not opulence. Upon his precise measurements he found that my tissues could sustain an increase from 34AA to a 34 C/D. We decided on the anatomically correct implant and scheduled surgery for Dec.8, 2000.

The day of surgery went as scheduled. I went into surgery around 12 noon and was home by 3 p.m. I left the surgery center with no restraints, no tight bandages, no drains, and very little pain. All I had was 2 very small band-aids covering the incision sights. I was prescribed pain killers but only needed them for two days which I took at night. The day after surgery I drove myself to the mall to do some Christmas shopping and returned to work in three days. I felt so good that no one at work suspected a thing. For the next week I found myself getting tired easier but then that is to be expected after surgery. Within two weeks the feeling began to return and the implants began to drop into position, just as Dr. Tebbetts said they would. I began exercising three weeks after surgery to the amazement of other women at the gym who also had implants. Before surgery these women were telling me that my Dr. was wrong when he said that I would have minimal pain and quick recovery. Two days after surgery I returned to the gym, not to work out, but to prove them wrong. After seeing Dr. Tebbetts work they all agreed that they had chosen the wrong doctor and that I was the one that had chosen well.

For Christmas, my husband bought me two little black dresses that I had never been able to wear before with out a glimpse of a sock or tissue sticking out from under my arm pit. I has now been three months and I couldn't be happier. 99% of my feeling is back, no pain, the scars are barely visible, and I can now find clothes that finally fit!!

If you are considering an augmentation, don't sell yourself short. I strongly recommend that you first read "The Best Breast" by Dr. Tebbetts and Terrye Tebbetts then visit with Dr. Tebbetts, Terrye, and the staff. You will leave feeling relieved, excited, and knowing that, you too, can be proportional with minimal inconvenience.
