Hi Nicole! This is Lydia, the one that's been posting about silicone in Canada. I thought I would give you the details of my situation, in case anyone is asking about how to get silicone.

I really wanted silicone because I lift wieghts, and wanted to go over the (I can't thank you enough, you site was invaluable in my research!!). Being skinny, I was sure to ripple, most likely visible ripples as well..and I was sure to get the fake "shelf" look which is didn't want. Dr. Julie Khanna, in Oakville is the PS granted the use of silicone. She was given the 'compassionate release' rights for silicone by the Health Canada, Health Protection Branch, Medical Devices Division early this year. After she got this, she was able to present a case for using silicone on a second time patient, who had silicone, and wanted a re-do to silicone. She applied for me under an exceptio and I was able to get silicone as well.

I'm very happy with mine at 4 weeks post, and out of the 8 consults I had, Dr. Khanna was my first choice far above the others, even if I could only get saline. I hope this helps anyone wanting silicone in Canada, or even the US! If anyone is interested I can give them the contact info for my PS, and forward a copy of the letter I sent to give them an idea of what to write.

I am from Oakville, Ontario Canada and when I was researching my BA Dr.Khanna's name came up many times, favourably; in magazines (Chatelaine) and from friends...but she was going to be on Maternity leave when I had wanted the surgery. Glad to have her here and know that I definitely would consult with her on any more cosmetic surgery I might eventually be interested in. Welcome aboard Dr. Khanna!
