About Dr. Hobar:
A Personal Statement
I consider it a privilege to be a plastic surgeon. That's why I am one of the founders of the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute and the Dallas Day Surgery Center. At its essence, plastic surgery is a specialty designed to improve quality of life. It is very fulfilling to give my patients a new outlook on life. I am very careful to listen to my patients and make sure that I understand their expectations and use that information to determine who is a good candidate for plastic surgery. I strive to deliver the highest quality care and perform only the safest and most effective plastic surgery procedures.
I perform all cosmetic procedures in the Dallas Day Surgery Center. It is a fully accredited Day Surgery Center equipped with the most technically advanced equipment and safety features. It is important that I create the safest possible environment for my patients so I insist on using an anesthetist or an anesthesiologist during all of my procedures. As you will see throughout this site, I am involved with several professional organizations and educational institutions. I am continually exposed to the latest advancements in plastic surgery - both good and bad - and am very selective of the procedures I will perform. I must be convinced that a procedure is safe, effective and beneficial to my patient before I will perform it.
Choosing a plastic surgeon is an important decision. This is the best way to know that a surgeon has completed the stringent training, requirements and testing necessary to be certified by this governing board. Dr. Hobar's Reputation
Dr. Hobar is a respected leader in the plastic surgery community. He serves on many committees and is involved with numerous higher education programs nationwide. He routinely writes articles, papers and gives national presentations to share his knowledge and expertise with other plastic surgeons. A few of the topics include: ideal facial features in attractive faces, optimal planning for nasal and chin surgery, genioplasty vs. chin implants, the efficacy of Endermologie in cellulite, the subperiosteal cheek pad lift, and the comparison of different levels of dissections in facelifts and endoscopic browlift. Dr. Hobar's significant contributions to the advancement of plastic surgery have earned him the prestigious election to the American Association of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Hobar has been in private practice since 1990. He is the Medical Director of Dallas Day Surgery Center and the Founder and Medical Director of LEAP - a nonprofit organization helping underprivileged children around the world.
Dr. Hobar is also a founder of the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute where he conducts his private practice. In addition, Dr. Hobar is a clinical teacher at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He is Director of the Craniofacial Fellowship program where he trains other physicians from around the world in craniofacial surgery. He is also Head of Craniofacial Plastic Surgery at Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
As the author of numerous scientific articles and textbook chapters on plastic surgery topics, Dr. Hobar is a recognized national leader in education and research in plastic surgery. He is a member of approximately 12 medical societies, a fellow of The American College of Surgeons, and board certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.
