What Patients Say About . . .
Dr. Diana

I would like to recommend Dr. Mario Diana, my plastic surgeon, that did my breast augmentation surgery on April 19th! I actually had my first implant surgery seven years ago, with a different plastic surgeon. I had 265 cc, anatomic, textured, saline implants. At that time, the plastic surgeon said that was all that would fit in my tight muscles. I ended up with 3" between my breast and just didn't get the look I wanted. I left those in for 6 years until I decided to redo them and really go for what I had wanted all along. I had my first redo last November, using 450 cc, round, saline breast implants under the muscle) using Dr. Diana . My breasts looked great and filled in the cleavage area but still weren't the size that I wanted. So I opted for another redo in April of this year (I did get a discounted price!) and went with 700cc's, under, round, saline and absolutely LOVE my results! The right size (DD) and the cleavage is there!!! He has an office in Austin, TX but performs the surgery in San Antonio, TX and has a cute cottage to stay in that is included in the price quote for out-of-town clients! It was a totally great experience (no nausea to speak of!) and super easy compared to my first surgery. I would like for him to post my before and after pictures on your site to show just how different I look with 265 anatomics compared to the 450cc's round and the 700cc's round. It would show the different looks that different implants can give someone. I think it could help other women trying to decide on size and type of implant. And I also wanted others in the Texas area to know how great of a surgeon Dr. Diana is!

Thanks for your great site and devotion to getting the information out to all of us women! We greatly appreciate all your work!!

Hi, Nicole

(My surgery) went WONDERFUL!! I saw so many scary things on the boards at ImplantInfo that I had prepared myself for the worst.

Dr. Diana's staff asked me every other minute it seemed "Do you have any questions?" Repetition is a good thing - especially right before surgery when you are so nervous and I knew that they were just double checking over and over. I appreciated that. My anesthesiologist also spent some time just sitting and talking with me right before surgery - again - asking if I had questions. My husband was invited to ask questions and received copies of all my information so he could read as I was reading.

All in all, I am SUPER IMPRESSED with how smoothly this went. Very highly recommend Dr. Diana and I have friend who lives up north in another state who is considering coming down to talk with him about getting a lift and implants.

Thanks Nicole for your site!! It gave me the "oomph!" I needed to finally make this decision and go for it!

P.S. I went from a B to what Dr. Diana called a very full D. 425cc overfilled to 475cc. Under/Mentor and Saline.

Nicole,

First, your website has been invaluable to me in my on-again-off-again 5 year research into breast augmentation. Thank you! I finally did it on March 25, 2004. My ps is Dr Mario Diana in San Antonio TX. I cross referenced him after finding him as a sponsored surgeon on your website. I was out of state at the time of the consultation, pre-op, and came into town just to see him. His staff was excellent in coordinating appointments and patiently accommodating as well. They continue to be very helpful and timely if I need ANYTHING! Dr. Diana himself was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and from my results a skilled surgeon! :) (I have requested he send my photos to you after my two month post op pics are done!) His offices, surgery suite, and staff are impeccable. Let me know if you need any other info.

I want to say "thank you" for all of the input given through Liposite and ImplantInfo. I am so grateful to have had all of the information before, during and after my surgery. This is the main reason I decided to add my story.

My name is Cynthia, I am 38 years old, I am 5'5" and weigh 140 lbs. I lift weights and really look like I weigh 125 (or so I am told by several people, including doctors and personal trainers). I have 18% body fat. Before I started working out I was a size 12, before surgery I could fit into a comfortable size 6 and tight size 4 jeans (tip:I find Levis 550 a little more roomy in the rear end). I have one 8-year old son and have been married for 12 years to a wonderful and supportive husband (the latter fact of which seems common on these sites). I had breast augmentation and inner/outer thigh liposuction on December 26, 2002. My measurements were 36-26-42 even after 3 years of working out. I had resigned myself to having saddlebags for the rest of my life. Right after surgery my measurements went to 39-26-38, one month later I went to 38-26-38. My PS says my thighs will continue to swell and not to go shopping for pants for another couple of months.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I have had the most wonderful experience with my plastic surgeon, Dr. Mario Diana of San Antonio, TX. He and his staff have been so sweet, attentive, and supportive. Ever since my first consultation in July 2002 I knew he was the surgeon for me. The most interesting fact is that he is a parent of one of the students at the school where I teach. So it is so great to see him down the hall in the morning dropping off his daughter.

At present (exactly one month post-op), my bruising has completely faded. The widest part of me is not my upper thighs! I am totally proportional for the first time in my life! I am so happy with my decision. I have always considered myself attractive, but deep inside I always wished I could look better. I grew up feeling self-conscious about my thighs. I learned to accept myself as I was and then one day it occurred to me, what if...? My husband said that I have worked so hard and consistently for a few years and we could afford the surgery. So, one thing led to another and I found myself in my plastic surgeon's office last summer.

I only told two close girlfriends, one of whom has had the surgery herself. My family would judge me for being vain or narcissistic (side note: they thought this when I put myself through college and when I bought a new car) so obviously, I have not shared this bit of information with them. My husband and I joked one day about wearing Wonder bras months before my scheduled surgery, and I eventually did, so I really don't think anyone has really noticed a change. Thanks to the swelling of the thighs, the gradual reduction will not really be noticeable anyway. So, I really don't think I have anything to worry about (until my sister sees me in a bikini top this summer). I used to wear padded tops. My waist has always been narrow so I've always worn two-pieces, they don't hide the wide thighs anyway. I went from a small B-cup to a D. I was a full C when I was at my heaviest, so my skin suits my new breast size quite well. I tend to think that when I was pregnant/nursing I was a D anyway.

Once again, I thank Nicole and everyone else who has added such helpful information on these sites.

Hi Nicole:

I started researching BA in early March of 2002.  Your site quickly became one of my favorites.  It was extremely helpful in initial education on BA, incision site selection, size selection (with so many photos available to compare to my similar stats and desired stats) and last but not least with selection of my Plastic Surgeon.

Your site helped me make an initial short list of doctors and following consultations, I ended up choosing Dr. Mario Diana from San Antonio, TX and had my BA in July of 2002.  His staff was amazingly warm and helpful and was willing to answer my long list of questions anytime, in person, on the phone, or via e-mail.  I felt Dr. Diana had a wonderful approach to understanding my desires for my body and helping me to achieve those.

Following my surgery he addressed my concerns with immediate attention and compassion.  I needed to have a capsulotomy three months post because my serratus muscle attached to the pocket of my right breast.  One of the biggest reasons I chose Dr. Diana was his excellent results and experience with the trans-ax incision because I did not want incisions on my breasts.  This new procedure would require a different approach and a new incision, which was a very emotional and difficult reality for me to face.  His staff again was superb, and I felt that Dr. Diana bent over backwards to put my mind at ease, and accomplish the best results possible with the least amount of scaring.  I always felt that my best interest and personal preferences were of paramount importance to the Dr. and his staff.  I appreciated their willingness to communicate and discuss options.  My needs and desires were always put before everything else and I never felt pressured to make decision I did not feel completely comfortable with (even when O.R. time had already been scheduled and I had driven 4 hours and was in pre-op, my needs came first.)

I did not take advantage of the discussion board on your site until after my BA, but I have found it to be a great source of information, comfort, and reassurance.

Thank you for all of the hard work you do, and the service you provide.

 Michelle
