About Dr. Berman's Practice
Dr. Berman is a plastic surgeon who is board certified in both Canada and the United States. He has also obtained the Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Berman achieved international recognition after performing reconstructive surgery on John Bobbit.
Dr. Berman has a strong interest in cosmetic surgery and laser work. Some of the procedures he performs most frequently include breast augmentation with breast implants, liposuction (tumescent technique), blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) with laser resurfacing, facelift, endoscopic forehead lifts and tummy tucks. All of these procedures are performed on an outpatient basis. Also, because he works independently, his patients are assured that Dr. Berman himself will be performing their surgery.
Because he keeps up to date with advancements and changes in the field of plastic surgery, Dr. Berman is able to offer his patients the newest and safest procedures. In addition, Cosmetic consultations are complimentary.

- M.D.: Queens University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada
- General Surgery Residency: Memorial University, St. John's Nfld., Canada
- Plastic Surgery Residency: University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, VA
Dr. Berman has worked independently as a plastic surgeon since 1990. He completed 9 years of surgical training after graduating from medical school in 1981. Dr. Berman completed fellowships in microvascular hand surgery and burn surgery all at the University of Virginia. Dr. Berman received additional training at the Shock Trauma Unit in Baltimore, MD, microsurgery in San Franscisco and peripheral nerve surgery in Toronto. He previously attended Stanford University and studied chemical engineering.

Breast Surgery
- Augmentation - In breast augmentation, the breasts are enlarged by surgical placement of an implant. Dr. Berman uses only saline breast implants. Breast augmentation may also be combined with a mastopexy (breast lift)
