Richard L. Kofkoff, MD, FACS, a board certified plastic surgeon from St. Louis, MO, is a well-respected physician who has been engaged in the practice of plastic surgery for over 15 years. A native of Connecticut, Dr. Kofkoff attended college at Brown University where he graduated magna cum laude in 1976. Elected into Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society that comprises the top ten percent of medical students, he graduated from New York University School of Medicine in 1980.

Although New York City provided a wonderful environment in which to study medicine, Dr. Kofkoff was drawn to St. Louis by his acceptance into the highly selective general surgery residency program at Barnes Hospital. It was during his training in general surgery that Dr. Kofkoff became fascinated with plastic surgery and the possibility to combine his surgical skills and aesthetic judgment. Continuing his travels across the U.S. in pursuit of the best training possible, Dr. Kofkoff completed his plastic surgery training at the University of California, San Francisco in 1987.

Dr. Kofkoff is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. These accomplishments, in addition to participation in numerous professional societies, are your assurance that Dr. Kofkoff is well trained and continues to enhance his skills and participate actively in continuing medical education.

Dr. Kofkoff ‘s primary interest is aesthetic plastic surgery with a focus on contouring of the breast and body as well as facial rejuvenation. He has a particular interest in techniques that can improve a patient’s recovery following surgery and facilitate his/her return to normal activities. He utilizes his “Rapid Recovery” approach for breast enhancement to accomplish this goal.

He is married to Susan Godwin, DMD, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. They have 2 children.
