*******************************************************************************
I had a breast augmentation with Dr. Michael Nave in Michigan. I would
recommend my plastic surgeon to others.
Age: 40, 1 child, breastfed
Height: 5'10'
Weight: 150
Size: I went from an A cup to a D cup
Incision: Crease (inframammary)
Implants: Mentor
Implant Fill: Saline, 350 cc's filled to 400 cc's
Implant Surface: Smooth
Implant Shape: Round
Implant Profile: Regular
I chose to have my breast augmentation after undergoing a complete
hysterectomy and interparitoneal hyperthermic Chemotherapy which left 8
scars on my abdomen.
I no longer felt feminine from the scarring as well as undergoing forced
menopause in which I no longer had the assistance of hormones to maintain my
"B" breast size. After my surgeries and treatments, I was now an "A"
After I had recovered from my surgery and was told I was cancer free on
October 4, 2005 by my Oncologist, I started to look at living again.
I had discussed breast augmentation with my husband and my son and we were
all in agreement that this would be a positive experience in our lives. I
informed my Oncologist that this was what I wanted to do and he supported me
all the way and thought it was a very positive experience.
I contacted Dr Nave, (told by all the best in my area) had my consultation
and Dr. Nave wanted to give me a 300 to a 350cc because I had told him I was
afraid to be too big (I was told he was on the conservative side).
I had researched size on the internet and looked at so many before and after
pictures they all looked alike after a while. I tried to find someone of my
stature and with my breast shape and size so I could accurately choose the
right size for me. I had heard that most people want to be bigger after
their surgery. I had also heard that most people are afraid to go too big.
That is exactly what I was afraid of.
I scheduled my surgery for April 4, 2004. I took vitamin c like crazy and
airborne because everyone in my house was sick so I wanted to avoid getting
sick and not being able to go through my surgery.
After lots of discussion with my husband and my friend who also had the
surgery and wants to go bigger I decided to go 375 to 400cc's. I called the
nurse and discussed my decision with her and she packed the bigger size just
in case. She told me I could discuss this with my doctor the day of the
surgery.
I went under general anesthesia because I am a wreck after recently
surviving ovarian cancer (the deadliest gynecological cancer) and constantly
facing death. I am now a different person than I was before the cancer. More
scared and concerned for my health.
The day of the surgery, I was nervous and excited. I bought a pretty jogging
outfit that zipped in front so I could arrive pretty and leave even
prettier. I went through the surgery, woke up, went through pain for a
couple of days and felt immediately better. I cried for two days because I
thought I was too big, but now am comfortable with my size. It has been 4
weeks now and I still feel sore in my left breast as this has just started
dropping. My right breast dropped immediately, no pain there. I do still
feel burning in my left incision on the end and read this is normal. I am
still sleeping on my back as I tried to sleep on my side and it resulted in
a muscle strain on my left size. Other than that, I have shape, look
feminine again and am cancer free! Life is good
