Visitors' Stories -- Shannon - from Ireland! (p. 2)Wednesday, 3 Days Post-op Thankfully I am feeling much better every day. I went back to work today and am taking it very easy, as lifting and bending is very uncomfortable. I'm still a bit weak and sore but overall I'm happy with how quickly I have recovered. I'm wearing my sports bra night and day and will be for the next six weeks. I am happy with my new breasts and how they look. I'm looking forward to having the bandages removed so I can have proper baths without having to worry about getting them wet! Sunday, two weeks post-op I finally got my bandages removed and was happy with how the scars healed. The nurse said the doctor did a terrific job and my breasts looked really natural. I asked her would the size change and she said no, that they would settle more but would stay the same size. I was delighted with that, as I am currently a 34DD! They actually feel real now, like a part of me and even bounce! I have to massage them towards each other every day to help with cleavage and I don't mind having to wear the sports bra as it helps with the extra weight I have to get used to carrying. Sunday, four weeks post-op Well I'm going to finish up my journal for now, I'll come back in six months with my update. For now I feel like I am finally getting on with my life after all this, I'm not as obsessed with BA as I was and can just get on with things and enjoy my new shape also. I have never regretted my BA for a minute, and am delighted I got my hydrogels in particular. They're really natural yet firm and look really well in clothes. My scars are hardly noticeable even at this early stage and I am happy with all the choices I made on size, incision, etc. I enjoyed writing this journal as it helps me remember the experience and I hope it will help others in some way also. Update at one year! Its been over a year since my BA and things are going fine with them. I am still a 34DD and my breasts have dropped into a more natural position. To be honest I wanted them to be a bit more uplifted than they are, but as I have had children I guess they couldn't be. The other gripe I have with the hydrogels is that you can feel them. It's not too bad, and doesn't bother my partner, but I think silicone would have been less detectable. Having said that, I don't regret having the op for a minute. They look great, not saggy, just very natural. The scars have completely disappeared and I am very happy with the size. I will probably have another child in the future so would probably go in for a re-do (if needed) a couple of years after that. It's funny, because at the time the BA seems like the most important thing in the world. When its over it leaves you to forget about it to a certain extent and get on with the rest of your life. I cannot thank Nicole and everyone at the forum enough for their support and guidance in the past. |
