Visitors' Stories -- Liz's Story (page 1):

I had my BA on August 18, 1998. My stats are: 37 years old, 5'6", 130 lbs. I went with Mentor smooth, round 350 cc saline implants per my doctor's suggestion. They were placed submuscularly through an inframammary incision. I started out a saggy, deflated 34B and am happy to report that I blossomed into a 34D (strange...seems like it just happened overnight!..LOL). I remember waking up from surgery and seeing the doctor over me saying everything went extremely well and he decided on 350 cc's (we had discussed 325 prior to surgery, but I told him I wanted to be "filled out" and he could make that determination during surgery). Then I went out again. When I woke up the second time, I was in some pretty good pain and I felt as though I was going to pass out. The nurse said that was the pain setting in and put some Demerol in my IV. They got me up to go to the restroom and my husband saw me then for the first time. His first reaction (he told me this later) was "My God...they're HUGE!!"

I managed to get dressed and into the wheelchair but that's all I remember until after I got home and took a nap. My husband said I kept saying we were parked on a different floor in the parking garage and I was pretty much a looney toon! They put the seatbelt on me but he said I promptly removed it. I took a pillow along for the ride, but I think I just laid back and slept all the way home. No discomfort. After he got me into bed, I took a short nap. I did need more Percoset when I woke up and took it every four hours as prescribed because I had read so much on the forum about staying ahead of the pain. This did turn out to be very true. Don't worry about becoming "addicted" to them. This is one time you really do need to take them. I also took Keflex for 5 days to ward off any infection.
