SUBJECT 540 - Correction of Reconstruction
After Breast Cancer Reconstruction After Placement of Alloderm grafts 1 year after Alloderrm with
nipple and areolar reconstructionRepair of thin capsules with implant malposition and rippling, using Alloderm Grafts
This patient came to Dr. Baxter after undergoing bilateral mastectomies and reconstruction, using tissue expanders under the muscle followed by Mentor Siltex round saline implants. She healed with extremely thin scar capsules around the implants, resulting in loss of support and migration of the implants (see top photo). Ripples can be easily felt as well.
Both problems were corrected by reinforcing the implant capsules with Alloderm grafts (see middle photo).
One year after the Alloderm grafts, Dr. Baxter also performed a nipple/areolar reconstruction (see bottom photo)
